Elcomsoft Distributed Password Recovery 4.0 with Automatic Dictionary Distribution and Intel GPU Acceleration

Elcomsoft Distributed Password Recovery 4.0 is updated with major performance boost on Intel processors, enabling hardware acceleration with Intel HD Graphics and Intel Iris built-in GPUs. In addition, NVIDIA Volta support with CUDA 9 and internal optimizations allowed nearly doubling performance on multiple formats. Finally, EDPR 4.0 automatically distributes dictionaries from the server to all remote agents.

Elcomsoft Distributed Password Recovery 4.0 is a major update offering nearly double the performance of the previous version on many hardware configurations and data formats. Now supporting graphic acceleration units such as Intel HD Graphics, UHD Graphics and Intel Iris shipping with Intel’s last generation CPUs. The ability to make use of Intel’s built-in graphics chips for accelerating password recovery doubles or even triples the recovery speed on computers without a dedicated video card.

For those computers that are equipped with a dedicated video card powered by NVIDIA technologies, Elcomsoft Distributed Password Recovery 4.0 nearly doubles the recovery speed for a large number of data formats thanks to internal optimizations and code migration to the latest version of CUDA 9. NVIDIA’s latest technology, the NVIDIA Volta, is now fully supported.

Customers deploying Elcomsoft Distributed Password Recovery 4.0 over a large network will benefit from the tool’s ability to automatically distribute dictionaries, including custom dictionaries, across all agents running on the same local area network or connected over the Internet. The automatic dictionary distribution allows to easily deploy custom dictionaries from the single server to all connected agents in a matter of minutes.

The Disk Encryption Info tool is no longer part of the package, being replaced with an evaluation version of Elcomsoft Forensic Disk Decryptor allowing to attack TrueCrypt, Bitlocker, PGP Disk, FileVault, and DMG encryption (full disk encryption and containers).

The new Elcomsoft Hash Extractor tool is now included, allowing users extracting password hashes from the many supported password managers. This tool replaces functionality previously built into the main package, allowing for better portability and much easier extraction of password hashes from live systems.

EDPR 4.0 supports several new data formats including Microsoft OneNote 2007 through 2016. For KeePass manager, the tool supports ChaCha20, AES-KDF (KDBX4), and Twofish (KeepassXC).

There are many more additional bug fixes and improvements. EDPR 4.0 fixes the issue of handling large tasks with long queues, fixes the issue of inconsistently reported recovery rates, and takes care of many more issues reported by our customers.
